When it comes to fall’s color palette, it’s all about venturing into the wild blue yonder. Prada, Missoni and Carven made the sky the limit at their fall runway shows with a bevy of blue hues. Whether paired with black and white or worn with corresponding shades of the same hue, blue joins emerald green and basic black as the colors of the season.

While fall usually ushers in burnt oranges, browns and other autumn shades, it was designers like Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg and Tibi who kicked color up a notch with bold blues. Show in coats, dresses, separates and even furs, the shade makes transitioning from summer to the latest season worth singing the blues.

Some of the standouts for the season come from Prada, who, this season, showed a collection of sexy and somewhat mod dresses in the hue, including several body-conscious, one-shoulder numbers, one in cobalt, another in a tribal-esque blue print, as well as a sexy lace frock for a night out and a mirror image, long-sleeve option. But my personal favorite is the flowing boho sheer dress/ cover-up in a traditional Pucci-esque print. The look is perfection for Miami’s fall. And considering we are a city that embraces color, it’s a slice of blue heaven.
