First came the boot, then the bootie, followed by the shoot/boot hybrid, the shootie. And while the shootie has tapered off, and the boot is almost too hot to wear most of the winter in Miami, it’s the bootie that we turn to time and time again to fulfill our seasonal shoe cravings. This season, the shoe takes on dynamic shapes and colors from the likes of Christian Louboutin, Céline and Marni. Think of it as a way to funk up an outfit, add a little sex appeal and keep your feet shod in the hottest accessory of the season.

The New Classic
Leave it up to Louboutin to create the classic bootie with a twist. The Aziboot is your basic black bootie, but the cutout detail gives it a sexy edge. Pair this pointed-toe pair with distressed denim, a basic white tee and a statement necklace to make these booties the standout in your outfit.

The Unexpected Twist
Blue was the color of the season on the catwalks at shows like Valentino, Prada and Missoni. The shade has also infiltrated accessories. In lieu of the basic black boot, Céline offers up this gem in blue. The Ankle Boot Rider in navy calfskin is a work of art just waiting to be paired with a sleek wrap dress.

The Tough Girl Option
Dainty booties took a backseat to rubber-soled kickers this season. Chalk it up to the grunge era of the ‘90s, but these Dr. Martens-esque booties are back. This ankle boot option from Marni says you don’t mess around. Pair it with a feminine dress for the perfect juxtaposition of sweet and sassy. Also wear with shorts for an edgy rocker chic look.
