It's fitting that as the 12th Annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival gets under way that we in the Design District welcome our latest epicurean delight, Mercato. The small, Italian cafe is adjacent to Dena Marino's MC Kitchen. Diners will find everything is freshly made including croissants, Roaring Forties cheese apricot nut scones, bread, espresso chocolate chip cookies, boston cream pie donuts with fresh cream from Dakin Dairy. And the savory side there are salads and sandwiches like fresh albacore tuna salad and shaved porcetta Cuban sanwiches.
