It’s hard to believe that in just a few days Miami Art week returns to the Magic City. As artists, gallery owners and exhibitors prepare their works and as event planners and publicists are pulling together their final RSVPs, those attending the art fairs and parties are busy planning their wardrobes.
For the see-and-be-seen week, we tapped a few of our favorite locals to share what they’ll be wearing as the art world descends on Miami.
Elysze Held, The Stylist
The uber chic stylist to Miami’s most stylish (in part thanks to her help), Elyzse Held has been shopping since early October to get her Art Week wardrobe together. That list includes Givenchy’s circle print jersey and studded flatform sandals (for height & comfort), Burberry’s snakeskin and velvet buckle bag and military jacket. Held shared that her Art Week outfits are similar to what she wears to New York Fashion Week which includes, “a plethora of black basics, with fabulous accessories.” If we’re lucky enough to have a breeze, Held will get to wear her Burberry Diamond Quilt Leather Biker Jacket.
Amanda Harris, The Publicist
For Amanda Harris, Director of Communications at EAST, fashion is a form personal expression and she tends to dress on the “arsty” side by mixing up designers that perfectly blend professionalism with her own unique flair. While Art week is about the art and design, for Harris it is also about business. For daytime looks, “I typically go for a funky print pencil skirt and mix matched tops from stores like Alice & Olivia. In the night, I kick it up a bit with a quick transition into more of a rock star look with designer vegan shoes, bags, and accessories, which helps me feel stylish while also keeping conscious.”

Evan Benn, The Editor
Editor-in-chief of Indulge Magazine, Benn is in-the-know on all things Miami from food and fashion to celebrity and art. Benn’s take on tackling the plethora of events: “I like to approach Miami Art Week like I do my grocery shopping: start along the perimeter aisles and work my way toward the center.” When dressing for the week, Benn let us know that his Theory Double-Face Rodolf Jacket will be a staple. “It's one of those dress-up or dress-down pieces that provides the kind of stylish versatility I'm looking for during Art Basel.
Ariel Swedroe Weinberg, The Prodigy
Art Week marks an important date for 13-year-old fashion designer, Ariel Swedroe Weinberg, as it was after a meeting during the 2012 shows with Stella McCartney that she became inspired to create her own fashion line. The granddaughter of renowned architect and artist Robert Swedroe, she designs cocktail dresses, tops, skirts, jackets, shorts and swimsuits using bright bold designs out of patterns she’s created from photographs, scans and laser. This year, Ariel is “pairing my Swedroe by Ariel bomber jacket and my laser cut tank with black skinny jeans and black high top platform sneakers (note, we’re a fan of these Louis Vuitton hightops). I'll accessorize with one of my graphic silk wrist scarves. It's a great mix of edgy, artistic style, and function.”
Heather Monahan, The Business Expert
For career and business expert, Heather Monahan, also known as the #BossInHeels, it’s only fitting that she be seen out and about wearing, well, heels. Monahan tells us, “thankfully, Christian Louboutin is open in the Design District, so I am able to grab the newest black strappy pump to rock my evenings around town.” Adding to the heels, Heather’s “evening attire for Art Basel is typically black leather pants and a strappy top.”
