There’s diamond jewelry and then there’s Sevan Biçaçki diamond jewelry — and the two are not the same. Walk into the new Sevan Biçaçki storefront in the Miami Design District, which is tucked into the second level of Palm Court and marks the brand’s first shop in the U.S., and it’s easy to see why this Turkish gem is Miami’s newest hidden treasure. As if the colorful, Michelangelo-like, hand-carved and hand-painted jewels in opulent glass cases aren’t enough, look up: the hand-painted Ottoman domes above you create the most-talked-about ceiling in the MDD. Basically, it’s like you’ve been transported to opulent Istanbul just by walking inside… and trust us, you won’t want to leave.

A hit amongst celebrity stylists and dedicated jewelry (and even art!) collectors, Sevan Biçaçki’s million-dollar jewels are total head-turners — which makes sense, when you consider that Sevan has been perfecting his craft since he was just a 12-year-old intern. From his first collection, which was made in 2002, to today, the renowned jeweler has become known for his eye-popping rings, which can take up to a year to make and use both ancient and modern techniques, like jewel cutting and sculpting, micro-mosaics, painting, calligraphy and incredibly intricate metalwork, many times on the gemstones themselves.

Picture square, diamond-studded rings with a hand-carved, mini statue of the Taj Mahal inside the main gem; a similar ring, this time in the shape of bird feathers, with a carved pigeon inside; a lobster-shaped ring clutching a giant pearl, all of which is encrusted in diamonds; or even bejeweled earrings with full palaces etched into the Citrine gem face. And then picture them so fabulous that they’ve earned Sevan Biçaçki six Couture Design Awards in his lifetime and have been on display in top museums and art galleries around the world.

But don’t just imagine it – go see it. For the first time ever, Miami’s finest can find Sevan Biçaçki’s jewels in their own backyard, right here in Miami Design District. The new store is located just above the Buckminster Fuller Fly’s Eye Dome in Palm Court of Miami Design District and is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sundays, from noon to 6 p.m.
