Spending time with family is all about making memories and the Miami Design District’s offering of restaurants, art spaces, and shops make it the perfect location for your most memorable family outings. We’ve put together what we think is the quintessential family day at MDD.
Grab Brunch at St Roch
Skip the “where do you want to eat” conversation and head straight to St Roch Market. Miami’s hottest food hall is the perfect spot to grab brunch with fam. With 11 exciting dining options, there’s something for everyone, from delicious vegan options at Chef Chloe to classic Italian fare at Dal Plin, Southern comfort food from Coop and everything in between.
Family Day at ICA
After your bellies are full, head on over to the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami. (It’s never too early to start your kiddo’s art education!) Every third Sunday of the month ICA holds Family Day, an interactive day full of crafting activities, storytelling and more. If you’re headed to the museum on a non-Family day, fear not. Ask for a family pack at Guest Services and take your little ones on fun scavenger hunt throughout the museum. (At the end there’s a prize!) Keep in mind: strollers are not permitted in the galleries and must be checked in the lobby.
Climb With Purpose at the Dozie Kanu Play Structures
Take a break to let the kids get some energy out and exert a little physical activity by playing on the Dozie Kanu designed play structures. Contemporary artist and furniture designer Dozie Kanu’s candy-colored climbing structures at MDD are more than just fun to play on and look at-- they have a message. Engraved with the serial numbers of decommissioned guns and bullets collected from crime scenes, the structures are also actually an anti-gun violence statement.
Beat the Heat With a Popsicle Stop at Ladyfingrs
Need to cool off? Pop by the Ladyfingrs cart next to Prada for a sweet treat. The drool-worthy flavors include Oreo, Birthday Cake, Lychee Rose Water and more. (Bonus: many of the flavors are vegan and gluten-free!)

Cap off a great day by letting your minis choose a toy or book at Genius Jones. We love the thoughtfully curated shop full of beautifully designed products for kiddos. Their well-made products with a purpose are equal parts aesthetically pleasing, entertaining, and educational.
