Locust Roundtables: Jacqueline Falcone: The Wrong Place

Transcending beyond the mode of apartment gallery, The Jacqueline Falcone Bed and Breakfast embraces context and situation-specificity by placing artworks and exhibitions in the intimate setting of a private bedroom. Here, social structures and artistic content blend to the tune of domesticity, in relation to the concept of “spatial politics” Miwon Kwon has described in her essay The Wrong Place. This roundtable invites us to consider the presentation of art outside of the traditional contexts of museums or galleries and the impact that has upon the artwork, intentional viewers, and unintentional participants.

Jacqueline Falcone is the founder of the Jacqueline Falcone Bed & Breakfast, an alternative exhibition space located in her bedroom. Jacqueline lives in Miami, FL and works as the Membership Manager at ICA Miami.
