Carson Case, a Miami-based rhythmic industrial artist, opens her first major solo exhibition on Saturday, July 12, 2008 in a contemporary new space in Miami's Design District. The space not only exhibits a myriad of Carson’s ground-breaking artwork but will showcase video clips of Carson at her best – in live performances of kinetic action painting accompanied with global music by local percussionists and world DJs.

The opening reception and exhibit will be held at the Melin Building 3930 NE 2nd Avenue, Suite 202 from 7 pm to 10 pm. Musical styling will be a compilation of world music by local DJs and artists.

'Shelf Life' affirms the importance of an expiration date. In some cases the work uses purely ephemeral material and in others it is the concept behind the work that discusses a lifespan. In most cases art attempts to defy the idea of its end whereas an art exhibition is created with the understanding that it will only last for a short period of time.
