Internationally celebrated craftsman Sevan Biçakçi has opened his first boutique in the Americas in the Miami Design District. Serving up Istanbul’s legendary hospitality beneath hand painted Ottoman domes that have become the District’s most talked about ceiling, the new showroom is a lot like Sevan Biçakçi’s one-of-a-kind jewelry: you have to see it to believe it.
Sevan Biçakçi has long been a favorite of top stylists and dedicated collectors who for years made the pilgrimage to his unmarked studio near Istanbul’s legendary Grand Bazaar to bring home head-turning pieces. His jewelry takes months, and often years, to craft with each piece being made entirely by hand. Sevan and his team of artisans combine dozens of ancient techniques including inverse gemstone carving, miniaturist painting, micro-mosaics, calligraphy and incredibly intricate metalwork. Biçakçi‘s work has been exhibited in top museums and art galleries throughout the world and has earned some of the industry’s top honors, including six Couture Design Awards.
