With temperatures finally cooling down and Fall is in the air, one more important thing happens — truffles arrive! The truffles we’re discussing are of the fungi variety. While the item has grown in popularity over the years, with black truffles found almost year round, the creme de la creme of the truffles is the white variety, which can only be found in the cooler months.

The restaurant that kicked off the restaurant renaissance in the Design District, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, just underwent a two-week long renovation in order to freshen up the space, create a larger bar and a add a new raw bar.

Over the past three months, many of Miami’s top chefs, including the Design District’s Dena Marino, have noticeably slimmed down. It wasn’t because of a crazy new diet regime it was because they were all participating in a friendly fitness fundraiser and competition called Fit to Fight.

On Wednesday September 10th, The District Miami, hosted the Taste For The Arts fundraising dinner to benefit the Copperbridge Foundation as part of Copper Fest.

Coming this Fall is an exciting new addition to the Design District’s growing restaurant scene. Tony Gallo and Pietro Vardeu, the team behind Sardinia Enoteca Ristorante, have announced plans to open a new regional Italian restaurant in the neighborhood in the former Egg & Dart space.
