It’s no doubt that the streets of the Miami Design District are filled with renowned fashion brands, chic furniture outposts, delicious restaurants, and thought-provoking museums. One thing you might not associate with the District? Fitness! The neighborhood is home to a facility designed for pro athletes (and those who strive to train like them) and a blissed out yoga studio opening later this year. Check out both health clubs and see which one is up your alley.

364 days out of the year moms spend their time caring for, supporting, and worrying about their children no matter how old their kids might be. This Sunday, May 8, give mom one day off a year and reverse the roles: pamper her, care for her, shop for her and give her the most memorable Mother’s Day in the Design District.

If only Buckminster Fuller were here to see the hundreds of yogis about to descend on the Fly’s Eye Dome, he’d witness the boundaries between disciplines, genre, and sensory design eroding under the Miami sky.  Every fourth Wednesday of the month, an all-new YogArt series will set the stage for Jivamukti teacher and licensed movement therapist Dawn B. Feinberg, one of South Florida’s most sought after instructors.  Taking place in the Design District’s center for fashion and design, and surrounded by Sou Fujimoto’s waterfall-inspired architecture and Xavier Veilhan’s bust of Le Corbusier, a downward dog at Palm Court will also offer immersive connections with creativity, art and community.

It’s hard to keep up with the almost daily designer store openings in the Miami Design District, but if you want to look and feel your best in the latest collections, we highly suggest getting trim, taut and toned at dbc Fitness the District’s first boutique fitness, training facility.
