Acne Studios opened its first Miami, Florida location in the heart of the Miami Design District.
The Swedish brand’s new retail space spans 2 floors and over 2,000 square feet—ushering in what can only be defined as a ‘tropical softness.’ Acne Studios’ long-time collaborator, Halleroed, a Swedish design studio, crafted the store to subtly embrace its glamorous yet organic Miami surroundings.
A sleek modular system finished in aluminum anchors the store while neutral tones and wide lines of vision invite the brand’s pieces to dominate the space. The boutique’s marmorino walls add texture with a white, high-gloss finish and custom-made rugs by the Swedish company Kasthall add depth while resting on the black granite flooring.
The curved light fixtures create movement in the space and pay homage to Acne Studios’ flagship store on rue Saint Honoré in Paris (where the same light fixtures are featured). The space further mimics its Miami environment by nodding to the iconic Miami Art Deco style through pastel settees and mannequins designed by Daniel Silver.
The ‘tropical softness’ is extended with saturated blob-shaped seating designed by Max Lamb. These organic and peculiarly shaped Blobs were intentionally created to mirror the unique silhouettes in the SS23 collection.
The store’s playful yet structured atmosphere seamlessly translates into its new Miami home and into the work of Jonny Johanasson’s latest SS23 collection. All of which play upon each other to create daring juxtapositions and whimsical energy.
To celebrate the opening, they hosted a welcome event in their new location, followed by an Acne Studios-inspired wedding chapel in Wynwood complete with neon lights, a champagne tower, vintage wedding cakes and more.
