In today’s fast-paced, always on-the-go, everything-and-everyone-uses-technology state that we live in, it is hard to believe that a company that exports to over 120 countries on the five continents is still creating every single item by hand from one, yes one, factory in Spain. That company is Lladró, the perfecters of porcelain, and the latest to join the Miami Design District’s esteemed assembly of luxury brands.
Once known as “white gold,” porcelain is what got three brothers fired up in 1953. Literally. The Lladró brothers began making porcelain creations “the magic of a material with which they could give shape to dreams” in their family’s kiln at home. While the business is now run by the next generation, Lladró creates the pieces with the same extreme skill, know-how and style that were passed down. The creative workshop is now called the biggest little atelier in the world, with each craftsman honoring the craft that dates back centuries.
Now Lladró brings its magic to Miami to further illuminate the Magic City with spectacular new lighting creations as well as home décor statement pieces that suit the many different tastes, styles and interiors found throughout the city. The Miami Design District store is the third flagship store in the US for Lladró.
The interior of the new store is based primarily on the color white and features curved lines. “The interior design is inspired by the idea of creating a space where you feel at ease, where your eyes can wander and settle on the details and, in short, a place to let yourself be captivated. The simplicity of the display elements creates a platform where diversity does not produce confusion but offers each piece space to breathe”, explains Rosa Lladró, the company’s president.
In addition to the stunning lighting and décor, the Miami Design District boutique will carry company exclusives like the Life is Flower, by Japanese designer Yasumichi Morita.
Lladró is located at 140 NE 39th Street, Suite 204, Miami, Florida 33137
