Where Luxury and Lavishness Combine: Louis Vuitton Opens
We’re not in Paris, but you might miss that fact the moment you step into the new Louis Vuitton store. One of the first luxury brands to lay roots in the Design District, the new store brings four floors and a plethora of pretty things ranging from Nicolas Ghesquière’s Spring/Summer 2015 Women's ready-to-wear runway collection to exclusive offerings for men and women, not to mention the Mezzanine level that is dedicated to Men’s and Women’s travel pieces.
“As pioneers in Miami’s Design District, we are thrilled to announce the opening of our newest store in a vibrant center of culture and creativity,” said Anthony Ledru, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton Americas. “This new store, in the heart of the city, will offer a truly exceptional experience for Miami’s sophisticated clientele. We are proud to present Miami with the architectural gem, extending our relationship with the city which has already existed for more than 30 years.”
Like the stunning accessories inside (we’ll get to those in a bit), the facade of the store was designed by Japanese architect Jun Aoki in collaboration with Mirei Uchibe to evoke the feeling of Louis Vuitton’s iconic damier pattern. Inside, the open floor plan with art by Miami born artist Teresita Fernandez and a striking staircase with Terrazzo inlay, pays homage to Miami Beach’s architecture – from the Art Deco to Tropical Modernism blended with Vuitton details like the handrails wrapped in Nomade leather.
On the main level, you’ll discover women’s clothing and accessories including exclusive sneakers in purple python with calf and suede leathers. You will also discover limited edition crocodile and ostrich Capucines bags in bright, playful hues as well as Ruben Toledo Artist's Editions book.
Next on the Mezzanine, lust worthy luggage and travel pieces that can all be monogrammed will keep you stylish on your next escapade. An exclusive to the store includes monogrammed hardside travel cases with custom lining.
Continuing up to the third level, the Men’s universe houses ready to wear, leather goods and accessories including the anthracite python car shoe. The Spring/Summer 2015 collection by Kim Jones also graces the racks.
Finally, the top floor is home to a gallery space, outdoor terrace and VIP area, though no matter what floor you shop, you’re sure to get the VIP treatment.
