Weekend vibes were in full effect last month as the Miami Design District hosted its first ever The WKND event welcoming the hottest influencers to the neighborhood.

Social Media Influencers

Thirty of the world’s most influential social media stars descended on Miami for a weekend filled with fashion, art, culture, food — and a whole lot of fun. It started with guests checking into the eco-chic One Hotel & Homes, greeted with a room full of gifts from throughout the neighborhood.

The next morning, guests received a personal welcome to the Miami Design District by Craig Robins then proceeded to tour the District with both Craig and special guest and friend of the neighborhood, Karolina Kurkova.  An intimate brunch at the Louis Vuitton flagship store followed.

Then it was time to smile for the camera, as the group got to experience the hottest fashions from stores around the Miami Design District like Dior, Loewe and Max Mara and snap pictures all over the neighborhood from Palm Court to the Vortex Mural by 2x4. Glamsquad came out to make sure everyone’s hair and make-up was on point.

Next, Harry Winston welcomed the influencers to its salon for a Diamond 101 session and a rare chance to try on some if its most spectacular pieces. Then off to Chrome Hearts for the launch of the Jesse Jo x The Elder Statesman collaboration with a special performance by Jesse Jo Stark.

After some down time to freshen up, it was time to party! An exclusive, flamingo-themed party was held at the private residence of Craig Robins— including another special set by Jesse Jo, fire-breathing dancers, and a sea of monogramed silver balloons. The group ate, drank and danced the night away.

Sunday is brunch day and what better place to eat the morning away than the Miami Design District’s top dining destinations. The group split up and dined at Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, MC Kitchen and Mandolin. On the menu were tasty treats like bourbon apple French toast, pumpkin spice doughnuts, and decadent seafood platters.

Design Miami / was next on the influencer agenda with a visit to Nina Johnson Gallery where the group learned about 3D printing from Designer Emmett Moore. They then got the chance to make their own unique design pieces using 3D printed modules to take home with them.

It was a memorable weekend, indeed! Check out the Miami Design District Event Galleries and follow along on social media with the hashtag #atMDD for a closer look at the WKND festivities.
