With fall around the corner as our calendars flip to August, we’re in no rush to transition into a new season. With the temps blazing in the upper 90s, we’re sharing our favorite summer accessory trends to take advantage of during the dog days of summer.
Skip the stilettos and opt instead for a chunky heel for a night on the town. No one does funky footwear better than Marni, and we’re crushing hard on their cutout mule. Pair them with your favorite cropped jeans or sundresses to instantly up the cool factor of any outfit.
Probably THE breakout trend of the summer, basket bags have flooded the Instagram feeds of fashion’s hottest tastemakers. Blame it on being in perpetual beach mode, this whimsical trend is definitely spot-on for Miami’s style vibe. We love the cheery red details on Prada’s wicker tote with leather floral applique.
One of summer’s hottest accessory trends? Swapping out your tired old handbag strap for a fun guitar strap! We love Valentino’s collection of swappable guitar straps, available in a variety of colors and patterns. The Zebra Motif strap features a reversible pattern of stripes on one side and a sassy zebra print on the other. If you’d rather score a bag with a ready-made statement strap, we love the Guitar Rockstud Rolling Crossbody bag.
In the land of perma-summer, statement shades are practically required. Miami’s most stylish are swapping out their oversized aviators for crystal embellished sunnies. Think of it as jewelry for your face. Miu Miu’s cat eyed frames will transition into summer effortlessly thanks to their gray to blue gradient lenses and dark, glamorous frames.
We love a multi-functional accessory. Bracelet bags are having a moment and we’re digging the idea of a bag that can double as a bauble. Theory’s take on the trend is chic and polished and we’re loving that we can wear it two ways. This clean, minimalist design feels super architectural and kind of perfect for the MDD.
