Get Serious Interior Inspo at Design on a Dime
It’s back! Housing Works’ third annual Design on the Dime, the event where you get to shop the most fabulous pieces of furniture, home decor and accessories curated by the country’s top interior designers at up to 80 percent off retail price.
No, it’s not too good to be true. Housing Works, a leading AIDS-service and advocacy organization will host their highly-anticipated fundraising event, Design on a Dime, on February 3 & 4th, 2018, inside the Moore Building in the Design District.
Housing Works partners with leading interior designers who create vignettes that reflect their own aesthetic using pieces donated by top home furnishing and décor companies all in the name of charity. Proceeds from the sales of the pieces sold during the event fund Housing Works’ “AIDS-FREE USA 2025” campaign, which plans to end the AIDS epidemic nationally by 2025.
The event kicks off on Saturday, February 3rd with a ticketed VIP Cocktail Hour & Preview featuring a private cocktail reception from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. where guests will get a first look at more than 30 designed room vignettes. Following the preview is the Chairman’s Dinner at 8 p.m., where Ximena Caminos, Chair of Faena Art and Executive Creative Director and Partner in Faena Group, Rodman Primack, Chief Creative Officer of Design Miami, and design entrepreneur Rudy Weissenberg will be honored. The Dinner Chair will be Craig Robins, President and CEO of DACRA.
For those eager to shop as well as meet, host James Huniford, Founding Chair of Design on a Dime, Co-Chairs Whitney Robinson, Amanda Lindroth, Rodman Primack and Rudy Weissenberg, Douglas Friedman Social Chair and Official Facinator as well as the designers, can attend the ticketed Opening Night Reception Sale, open from 6:30p.m. to 9:30 p.m..
Confirmed participating designers of Design on a Dime Miami include: A.Keith Powell, Amanda Lindroth for Serena & Lily, Antrobus + Ramirez, B+G Design & Janet Patterson Interior Design, Benjamin Moore, Britto Charette, Clay Cunningham with Spin Ceramics, Deft Union, ELLE DÉCOR, Eolo A&I Design, Errez Design Studio, Fava Design Group, Fein Zalkin Interiors, Hallock Design Group, Hernan Arriaga, Interiors by Maite Granda, KAKAR House of Design, Krista + Home, Maggie Cruz Interior Design, Mendez Vela Design, Mike Stake Studio, Monica Arellano, Stephannie Benhamu, Miguel Lewis, Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams, MONIOMI Design, Nicole Fuller Interiors, Nicole White Designs Interiors, Sogol Décor & Luca Porcelli. The majority of participants will design individual room vignettes, while designers Miguel Lewis, Monica Arellano and Stephannie Benhamu will design a double room together.

Don’t stress if you can’t attend, because for the first time Housing Works is presenting the Design on a Dime Shop & Gallery Pop Up that will open on Saturday, February 10. Housing Works' Design on a Dime Miami Shop & Gallery is an extension of Design on a Dime Miami, South Florida's premier interior design benefit event. This is Housing Works first Miami retail activation, produced in collaboration with Share Media Agency. Shop top-tier fine art from local Miami artists and access a highly curated selection of luxury furniture, home decor, books, and more, at 50-80% off retail prices.The Pop Up will be open Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at 151 NE 41st Street, Suite 219.
