Just in time for the holidays, Miu Miu gets a makeover. The brand’s North American flagship store, located in the Miami Design District, recently unveiled a bold, fresh look exclusive to Miami. Similar only to the other ‘seaside doors’ located in St. Tropez and Porto Cervo, Italy, the “new” Miu Miu embraces the local flavor in its decor; from sunshine yellow couches to vibrant blue paneled ceilings.

This year, our dream of having a white Christmas is finally a reality! 243 years after the first recorded snowfall in Miami in 1774, winter has come to Miami again in the form of “White Rain” — Charlap, Hyman & Herrero’s holiday commission in the Miami Design District. The neighborhood is transformed into a high fashion winter wonderland, courtesy of the whimsical and humorous installation.

Can you feel it in the air? No, not the somewhat less humid temperatures, rather the buzz of Art Week. Yes, it’s back and as it seems like every year, bigger.  As the art scene starts to invade Miami, those who will be attending all the events are starting to plan their wardrobe. We caught up with a handful of ladies and gents who shared their Art Week plans including what they plan to wear during one of the most photographed weeks of the season.

Luxury is no stranger to the Miami Design District. So it is no surprise that when brands want to have a presence in Miami, even if just for a short while, they set their sites on the District. Just in time for Art Week, a new crop of pop-up shops are taking up residency in Miami’s most shoppable stretch of streets. From Gwyenth Paltrow’s goop GIFT to Pasticceria Marchesi, created by Lorenzo Bertelli, son of Prada designer Miuccia Prada, be sure to stop and shop these must-see boutiques before they are gone.

During Art Week 2017, the Miami Design District will play host to several limited special installations that will only be in the area or open to the public for that week. The events range from expansive, like the 30-plus contemporary abstract artists on display in Abstract/Not Abstract, to monumental, like the installation of a massive work by Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama. Below are details of four noteworthy exhibitions that will only be in the neighborhood for a limited time.
