Conscious Actions is a series of interactive, architectural, playground-inspired devices that invites users to enjoy the carefree fun of childhood again while also being reminded of the direct impact that every action has on our environment and communities. Each device is activated through physical, natural forces. When users generate energy through these forces, they are rewarded with delightful effects, like reactive shadows, transformative surfaces, kinetic motion, and solar-powered lighting. Installed throughout the district, these curious, joyful devices provide a number of inspirational experiences. In addition, gt2P plans programming to engage with local community organizations dedicated to nurturing and supporting tomorrow's leaders today.
The Firm / Designers
Partners Tamara Pérez, Sebastián Rozas, Guillermo Parada, and Eduardo Arancibia founded the multidisciplinary design collective gt2P (great things to People) in 2009 in Santiago, Chile. Pérez, Rozas, and Parada are all trained as architects; Arancibia is a civil industrial engineer. Marrying digital fabrication and traditional hands-on production methods, gt2P's work has exhibited in numerous international institutions, including Design Museum London, Henan Museum in China, and the Museum of Art & Design in New York. The studio's work can also be found in the permanent collections of the Denver Art Museum and National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.
