Join the Miami Design District, in partnership with Arts Encounters, for a free guided tour of the neighborhood’s world-renowned public art and architecture led by art critic, journalist and educator Margery Gordon.
To keep cool on Saturday afternoon tours this season, we’re combining highlights of the District’s public art and design with guided visits inside marquee (and air-conditioned) cultural institutions – culminating Saturday, Sept. 8th, at the Juan Carlos Maldonado Art Collection (JCMAC).
The walking tour features Sol LeWitt’s monumental sculptures at the entrance to the District from Biscayne Boulevard, building up to the geometric abstraction from Latin America, the U.S and Europe that Maldonado is devoted to promoting. The global exchange of ideas and images in “Constructing Constructivism,” the multifaceted exhibition at JCMAC through October, offers a broader vision of this influential movement.
Meet at 3:30 pm in front of the Fly's Eye Dome on the first floor of Palm Court.
