Lower East Coast, a boutique print retailer and apparel shop located in Miami’s Design District, is bringing something new to South Florida. For those in the know, this unassuming spot is quickly becoming the go-to for hard-to-find publications and streetwear brands. With a focus on carrying curated apparel and publications, you can find exclusive products like limited edition local artist zines, premium international magazines, and coveted streetwear brands like Stray Rats, Bedlam, The Good Company and PAA.
Inspired by the history of Dade County, co-founders Rees Escobar and Steven Sanz have combined their shared passions for youth culture, specialized merchandise, and publications to create a new retail concept with a Miami slant. Their goal is for Lower East Coast to serve as a community builder that supports local creators through product curation and events.
Sanz, a music producer, and Escobar, an artist manager, met 15 years ago. With many similar interests, they wanted to create a boutique that reflected their own lifestyles, combining street culture with education and community. With the help of their Creative Director, Jonathan Rodriguez, the LEC team developed and launched the concept, celebrating its soft opening during Miami Art Week 2017.
