Deep breath. We've been told many are beginning to feel a bit overwhelmed by the plethora of events stacking up in their calendars. One simple game plan? It's the 10th Annual Smash and Grab at Locust Projects this weekend.  You can scope out the gallery online ahead of tomorrow night's event. Just be sure no to fall too deeply in love with any one piece as someone else might also have their heart set on your prize and get their hands on before your number is call. That's right, luck is a major component of Smash and Grab. You have to wait until your number is called. Think lottery ticket raffle meets art auction house aspect. All's fair in love and war and it'll definitely be a battle.

Acconci Studio has been named the 2012 Designer of the Year by Design Miami. Vito Acconci founded Acconci Studio in 1988. The studio was born out of a progression of his focus on architecture and design. As part of the prize, the Acconci Studio will bring their Klein-Bottle Playground, to the Miami Design District by 2014.

In his teens, he flirted with professional windsurfing. While his pursuits are now rooted in the ground, landscape designer Nathan Browning has definitely caught a wave. BY MARC KRISTAL
