Lemoni Pizza & Kitchen, the pizzeria outpost by Lemoni Café, has been a staple in the Miami Design District for more than 2 years serving Italian classics like pizzas and raved about meatballs.

But co-owners Maria Pelati and Executive Chef Assia Dahrouch saw an increase in demand for health conscious foods from their customers, and set out to revamp their menu to offer more healthy choices. After six months of working on recipes and techniques, they launched their new menu last month.

Included in the new menu is an array of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes. According to Pelati, since the menu revamp in late April the restaurant has been packed with customers enjoying these new healthy options.

Stand out dishes include Tofu Vegan Caprese made with house made vegan parmesan cheese, tomatoes, avocado, arugula and basil; Kale Caesar with quinoa, avocado, and croutons; the vegan Flora Pizza with butternut squash, kale, almonds, creamy cashew, and vegan parmesan; and the No Bread Portobello Caprese with sundried tomato arugula basil pesto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, avocado and spinach.

With the healthy dishes being so well received, Pelati and Dahrouch have also recently launched a vegan baked good company that makes cookies and cupcakes, which can be found in both Lemoni Pizza & Kitchen and its sister cafe.

Carnivores shouldn’t fret, however. Lemoni’s classic meatballs, pizzas and pastas, that have been a hit since the restaurant first opened, can still be found on the menu. Making the restaurant a perfect one stop shop for every different tastebud and craving.
