When in need of anything skin, hair, body and home, Aesop Design District balances our often-opulent neighborhood with a sense of simplicity and clarity. This enchanting sanctuary is all thanks to the Brazilian Design firm, Metro Arquitetos Associados.
Aesop Design District is Metro Arquitetos Associados’ debut project in the U.S. and their second collaboration with the brand. The shop boasts synergies of Brazilian modernist tradition and the iconic Art Deco design that peppers South Beach—perfectly exemplifying the roots of the project.
Taking further inspiration from its surroundings and foundation, the space pays homage to relevant local landmarks and icons—including the Miami Beach Post Office, built in 1937, the new Faena Arts Center and the renowned Brazilian sculptor, Sergio Cmarago.
Packaged in a zinc-toned exterior, the store features a bright space made of concrete, polished plaster and off-white terrazzo. The design intentionally avoids right angles and sharp contacts—allowing for light to bounce across a swooping and monochromatic interior. The smooth yet organic surfaces and design choices mirror the shapes of nature and the store’s Miami and Brazilian architectural inspiration.
There is no better oasis to showcase Aesop’s meticulously considered plant-based and laboratory-made ingredients. Clients can explore the breadth of skin, hair and body care products and meet with one of the store’s trained consultants at 160 NE 41st St. Suite 120 in the Miami Design District.
