When it comes to creating the most stunning ambiances for the most discerning clients — Christian Liaigre is the world’s go-to man. From the Mercer hotel in New York City to L’Hôtel Spa des Pêcheurs on St. Bart’s to Rupert Murdoch’s triplex loft in SoHo, the Paris-based designer has staked his claim as the designer for the client who has everything. And we mean, everything.

Until now, Liaigre's work has been available in the U.S. only on a limited basis. Joining its New York flagship showroom, his second outlet is — you guessed it — in the Miami Design District.  Fortunately for South Florida locals and visitors alike, guests can peruse Liaigre’s design work and furniture firsthand at his freshly minted eponymous shop next to Christian Louboutin and Cartier — fellow French maisons, as well.

Step inside his Miami showroom and it’s immediately clear why he’s considered to be among the globe’s top designers of handmade furniture and interiors. His pieces are elegant and comfortable; his environments are spare, luxurious and soothing. They are decidedly unfussy. Liaigre’s chairs, tables, lamps and more exude a timeless yet current feel.

Setting the standard in minimalist chic, we’re certain Miami will embrace the Grand Minimalist.  And with aplomb.

Christian Liaigre, 61 NE 40th St # 200, Miami; (305) 808-3550.
