BANG. It is only fitting Marc Jacobs go out with an illustrious one through his final campaign for Louis Vuitton. Following the news Jacobs is leaving Louis Vuitton after 16 years with the brand (tears!); the fashion phenom crafted a campaign we won’t forget. Tapping the likes of the biggest style stars in the industry — Gisele Bündchen, Sofia Coppola, Catherine Deneuve, Edie Campbell, Fan Bingbing and Caroline de Maigret — the IT girls posed for legendary lensman Steven Meisel in New York City.

The end result?

Stunning.

While some may argue the images, which were released via Twitter, are melancholic, Louis Vuitton’s camp promises it is a celebration of women who inspire Jacobs. A tribute to his muses, if you will. Now available for review on WWD.com, the Spring campaign will grace the pages of February’s print publications.

With the larger-than-life personalities of Bündchen, Coppola, Deneuve, Campbell, Maigret and Bingbing taking center stage, each portrait is replete with Vuitton’s timeless leather goods and showgirl-inspired looks from Jacobs’ final Spring 2014 runway show. The star product in the campaign? The bucket-style Noé bag, which was originally designed in 1932 by Gaston-Louis Vuitton as a stylish means of toting up to five bottles of Champagne.

Filling Jacobs’ very large, very stylish shoes at Louis Vuitton? Nicolas Ghesquière, who is to show his debut collection next March.

Way to bid adieu.
